SOLTEC and IRCCS Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan
A partnership for innovation and participatory research
"Help reseach to help life!"
This is the slogan which underlies the tasks carried out by the research team at the Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Research in Milan.
This private nonprofit foundation is run by Prof. Silvio Garattini, and its mission is to serve the sick and defend human health and life. In order to maintain the quality of its scientific research, the Institute has maintained its independence, siding with the sick; the Institute chooses not to patent the results of its research, but makes them freely available to the scientific community and patients. As a concrete show of support for this philosophy, in early 2015, SOLTEC Company decided to donate some SONICA Ultrasonic baths, one SONICA Ultrasonic extractor and many accessories to the Mario Negri Institute to enable their research teams at the Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology laboratories to carry out sonication processes.
This helped the researchers to extract pollutants from environmental matrices and PM10-type particulate matter from membranes.
